Hmm i think i better write something about my trip in China b4 i totally forget what i did there.. My brain is THAT powerful.. I left on the 15th of March for Shanghai, and while waiting for my parents to pick me up from Pu Dong airport, had to suffer the cool chilly wind everytime the freaking gate opens.. Hmm actually for the 1st few days i already cant remember much except for all the good shit i ate: Dan Dan mian at the Crab Rest, the super power Mutton steamboat, Puo Lo Bao, Beef noodles.... and many many many more.. i think i ate like 5 meals a day for my entire 2 weeks there in China thanks to my feeble attempt to keep warm, and hmm also thanks to the China guys who dun know their limits when they order! haha , but seriously the food there is so good and cheap that you just cant stop eating.. Ok, i visited some places of interest in Shanghia, but not much,, most of the times were spent cooped up in Coffee houses where my parents and i chatted till late, or in their cosy room where i watched like close to 10 dvds at night while trying to fall asleep.. Lemme see if i can remeber where i visited in Shanghia.. OK, *Shanghai Tan with the Dong Fang Ming Zhu (Oriental Pearl Tower) and at the side of this river bank, the Bund with the row of beautiful old European style buildings that were formerly foreign banks, government buildings and trading companies during the beginning of 19th century. Haha now that they belong to China agiain , you can see like a thousand China flags sticking out of them.. *Nan-jing Lu, a beautiful street where a million ppl walk along everyday , enjoying the beautiful lights on the buildings on both sides of the st. and of course there are many many shops displaying lots of cool stuff.. We were tired by then la so we decided to just take a tram and enjoy the scenery - a smart move which saves us time and money cos i swear there are so many things there to buy that had we walked, we would have left broke... *Shaghai Wild-life zoo, where we could check out all the wild animals out in the wild, not caged up like in S'pore.. pretty cool place.. And hmmm, thats all i can think of doh im sure there is more.. Beijing was in my opinion better than Shanghai.. Less developed, less industrial but somehow the amosphere is just hmm.. i dun know.. it just smells more like the real China haha.. I went to Beijing mainly because my parents had an exhibition there, in one communist-looking imposing building.. but my mom and i only went for a couple of days before sneaking off to explore Beijing by ourselves. Went to loads of places over there.. *First stop was the Tiananmen Square, the largest urban space in the world, able to accomodate up to a million ppl.. The place where all the China leaders stood on top and waved hands and stuff.. At the front gate, there is this huge gigantic pic of Chairman Mao.. Wel, all in all , a pretty impressive place...Hmm we were supposed to go see the flag-raising ceremony in the morn also but our driver got lost and missed it.. *Next up, we went further in to the Forbidden City..one ponnah power palace. Seriously HUGE place.. i swear you could get lost inside if they didnt provide a map.. Now its more of a museum than anything else with loads of old historical stuff and info.. *After visiting the Forbidden city, as my mom and i were making our way to the train station, we were stopped by this trishaw guy, who brought us see all the "hutong"s of Beijing.. these are narrow alleys that have been the hub of the city's street life for 700 yrs, and according to the guy, these hutongs house up to 2 million of Beijing's population.. Going tru these alleys show a differnet face of Beijing.. the older and more traditional side.. Just makes me wonder how the hell they squeeze so many ppl in such a small, narrow place.. *But best of all i feel is the Great Wall!! Built by Qin Shu Huang to defend against the nomads, it did not really serve its purpose as it was breached pretty often in the past. But well , it is still a brilliant showcase of the amt of work the ppl in e past put in to build this amazing struture.. We went to the Badaling section of the Wall, which i believe is one of the more restored and accessible section, and is thus a tad bit crowded and commercialised but even so just climbing up the wall brings u back centuries... *Following that, we went to the Ming tombs, where i think 13 out of the 16 Ming emperors were buried.. Haha supoosedly the ppl chose this burial site in the past becos it was "defended" on both sides by the Dragon and Tiger mtns, which supposedly kept "harmful" winds away from the holy grd.. But seriously, these mtns do indeed bear resemblances to what they are named.. Oh, and when we were coming out tru the exit, we were all made to say something like " We have returned!" - supposedly to annouce your arrival back into to the "normal" realm...haha! All in all, i really enjoyed this trip la.. Havent seen my parents in eons and i could finally have a taste of what their life over here is like.. Got to eat loads of good shit.. See lots of nice stuff... Well worth it!
In a dramatic turn of events, instead of reaching S'pore yest on the 28th at approx 10pm.. i only managed to touchdown today at 10am!! A 12-hr delay at freaking Hainan Island.. But well, it could be said that i should be thankful i landed at all cos what happened was the China Eastern airlines plane we were in had an engine malfunction.. one of them broke down and thus the emergency landing.. Cool shit.. Anyway, when we landed they made us wait like 2 hrs plus in the hot and humid planem with the air-con turned off.. A baby in the plane was supposedly running a fever of 39C.. Everyone was sweaty and complaining.. Haha esp the China guys.. They were pratically shouting at the air crew for making them wait in the plane when they know that eventually we will have to go to the airport.. And yup, we eventually made it to the lonely airport in Hainan island.. They put us in one of the gates and it was there where we rotted till 5 am in the morning before we can finally take off again.. But well, not all is as bad as it is la, cos at least i managed to get to know this gal.. who i admit i have been checking out since the time i was in the plane.. haha she was the hottest gal on the flight and was around my age.. Turns out her name was Si Si- a China student currently in her 2nd yr in SIM.. have been living in S'pore since her Sec sch days, and well, freaking rich i think.. She bought something from China's Gucci even though it is cheaper in S'pore.. her excuse being: "only a little bit more" Hmm, but seriouly i need to brush up on more Chinese man.. throughout the whole conversation with her in the airport and in the returning flight back home together, the process was something like this : She says something: My brain takes 5s to register what she said and translate it into Eng.. After deciding on what to reply, my brain takes ANOTHER 5 s to translate what i wanna say from Eng back in to Chinese.. And then i reply Fuck! Seriously not good.. Well, anyway, finally landed in Singapore , exchanged numbers, bought a Chivas for Nige's dad (haha the guy is smart , called me in China to buy for him, hmm which means none for me, haha), and back home i am.. Back in hot sticky sweaty humid SingaporE!!
Bye!! I'll be off to China from tomo, all e way to e end of e month. Will be going to Shanghai 1st - where my parents are living, before heading up to Beijing for some exhibition. Haha my parents want me to join them in entertaining their guests.. Wonder what sort of entertaiment man... Wine, dine, 69!!! Muahaha.. anyway, heard the food there is super good and cheap. But they have some weird-ass culture : the host must order a lot of food such that it fills up the whole table. This is to give the guest "mian zi"... And the weirder thing is, they cannot finish up all the food on the plates to give an impression of wealth and having "more than enough".. Bullshit, if you ask me.. But well, who am i to argue against a century-old practice eh?? Idiots!!!! Anyway i have a plan to order some China brides home.. Will be including a catalogue here in the next few days, let me know if you wanna order through me eh? Ciao!
Woot! I think i have just ORd-ed! Heh heh.. The thing was i was supposed to have a Wisdom Tooth op today but due to complications, i got referred to NUH. Which means i got to go for a appointment on Mon afternoon, and for the actual op on Wed. Which means i just minused 1.5 Working days..muahahaha But wait the best part is, initially i tot wisdom tooth op MC is only 5 days, but wat i just found out was..it is one whole fraking week- 7 days! Ah fuck, lets just say i only need to go to work on Mon MORNING! Haha, from 38 days to ORD suddenly become 1 FUCKing MORNING! i think i shall from this day henceforth worship the wisdom tooth fairy.. Woohoo!!!! Ok here is a pic of how my wisdom tooth is like: Yup, horizontal one... The complication is because (1) mine is freaking horizontal, (2) it is very deep within the gum and (3) it is lying just above a nerve. And also, cos i very garang, im going to pluck out ALL my wisdom teeth in one op.. my lower R, and upper L and R... Brave young man.. Woah! Wait, i cant believe i did not mention my Bangkok trip! Best trip in the world! Black doggie, his gf Shaf, ans, nic and i- together with Dan, Gab and Jia Han- travelled ALL the way to BK from the 16-21st Feb. In short, it was this: But being a long-winded son of a bitch, i shall elaborate. First day, MBK- shopping. Mafia and Whiskey in hotel. Massage. Dinner. PAtpong. In Patpong we kanna cheated.. Went to one shady place supposed to watch THAIger show, at 1st say no cover charge, in the end they come out 2 fucked up cheebye bitcy skeletor face tell us to pay 300 Baht entry.. Actually its quite ok la the extra charge but cannot stand the way they ask for it, obviously out to cheat.. But in the end, we all left.. most never pay the cover but i think gab and ans paid abit extra.. Fuck Patpong! hah but raslly, 1st day in BK feels like 3 weeks already.. Okj 2nd day 3rd day same routine, go Chatuchak Weekend Market followed by BANGKOK 100 ROCK!!!! Powerful shit.. the first day line up was: Deus, Ian Brown, Franz Ferdinand, and Oasis. Franz was freaking good, OAsis was hmmm so-so only.. 2nd day, 'twas Futureheads, Maximo Park, SnowPatrol and PLACEBO! The crowd was fucking wild for Placebo man.. mosh until almost die.. Haha, half way tru saw one gal cannot take it and left, later on, jia han told me he molested her whole nite tats why..haha!! sneaky.. And of course to round up both nites, we took a hard-core motorbike ride outto the highway to take cab.. Tbose fuckers got no helmet cut lane also never look.. Good stuff.. 4th day, hmm.. what did we do.. oh, shop for more stuff.. wemt MBK again, go to "Sim Lim" buy DVD, ate loads of gd shit, and at nite we went to some cabbie-recommended place called Hollywood.. went in, everything like zouk, haha only got 20 over hot almost-naked thai babes dancing on the stage.. the music also power.. but just when we were getting to e mood suddenly one live band came out to play..FUCK! the female singer was quite chio, skirt also super short on the stage.. bur FUCK! in the end we endured like 30 min of thai rock music before all cannot tahan go back hotel LAst day, haha all slack never do anything at all.. all come like millionaires last day all broke.. haha.. Oh and for the record we only saw 4 bapohs in BK!!! Amazing!
Haha.. last week, i went to Hougang Ave 5 to look for game shop, and i brough my pet buffallo along with me. Pretty screwed up day if you ask me..not only did not find the games shop, PowWow was being an ass the whole time. It kept snorting and nudging me around.. Should have sold it when i had the chance to last year. Then while we were under a block, PowWow suddenly needed to shit, and before i couild stop him, he shat all over the floor.. Well, i COULD have cleaned it up i guess, but you know how smelly buffalo's crap can be.. Well, the funny thing was i have forgotten bout the whole episode alrady. Until i saw this article on NewPaper toaday titled "Much ado about Dog poo". Haha, apparently the residents at that block in Hougang couldnt stand the smell and are unhappy. Haha even i couldn't stand the smell, and can't bear to clean it up, who the hell could. And besides, being typical tropical singaporeans, why would they bother clearing up that pile of shit, esp when their pet did not do it. So what did they do? One smart alek put up a poster in chinese saying : Fucking hell all you dog owners! Why you all so irresponsible.. Your dog shit already don't clean up!! SCrew you!!@#@#$ To which some-one who is obviously guilty of committing a crime such as this b4 replied with another poster of his "Don't accuse 11th floor dogs. Pls fer those who has dogs, bring ya dogs out of this building to finish off their business. Thanks!" What the hell man.. they use the blocks as MSN server ah? Everyday, put up one poster. Got so much time to write all these might as well go clean it up yourself la! Haha, of course, I should be the one feeling guilty rite? But well, I live so far away from there, and besides, they thought it was a dog what? PowWow is probably cleared of all suspicion. If no-one suspect he do it, why should i care? Somemore its not my flat, smelly also not my prob. But some unnamed resident was quite smart though..According to him "There are so many cats around, for all you know it could be the cats' doing" Damn him man.. now people think its the dogs im q1uite safe, but he come up with stupid idea say its other species .. What if ppl think think think find out it's buffalo shit then i die. From what i know PowWow is the only pet buffalo around. Better sell him now before any shit happen to me..
We were all restless and eagerly waiting for something to happen as we lay around various corners of the room. There i was propped on the bed, staring into the red bore of light from my radio. The techno was played at a riducously low volume in case anyone outside could hear what we were up to. "Sigh..",I though to myself,"Don't let it be another blank.." Then suddenly, the red light i had been staring at for the past few minutes started dancing. It playfully split into 2 red dots, then like one of those old Disney fantasia animation, the red light started swinging about to my heart's content. When i tried to stare into it forcefully, it seemed to understand, and like a student been reprimanded by the principal, it would sit still. But the moment i looked away, WOah!!! There it goes again.. Spliiting, swinging, dancing around.. Like a child demon let loose.. My legs felt it first. As they always do. Then like a wave, it spreads to the rest of my body. Things around me started swaying and spinnin, and i knew the game has begun. ""Knock, knock!!" Someone was at the door! I looked around fearfuly and noticed that i had been the first one to have been hit. Usually its Ansel or Gan, but perhaps due to home advantage heh heh i was hit first. But of all times, why oh why, must someone be knocking at the door. I knew that i had no choice, i had to open the door. I hastilly opened up and mumbled "What's up? We're sleeping already.." And there was my Dad bringing in a fan, as he was afraid it would be warm later in the night. I lay face down on my bed, pretending to be falling aslepp, praying for him to leave the room asap.. Sigh... and of course the rest of the night cannot be adequately expressed in words..
I just went for a dental appt at my camp and she said that almost all my wisdom teeth have problems.. or what she calls "impacted wisdom tooth".. Funny dentists.. all these 'professional' terms for weird probs. Do you know that when wisdom teeth comes out its known as "erupt" ?? ya, like a volcano eruption Fucked up man..what's the pt of having these wisdom teeth anyway.. Besides the obvious benefit of 1 week MC..why do we even have them.. hmm wait a moment theres no other better reason rite? why i complain so much haha But seriously i hear the way they remove i also abit scared. First they peel off your gum.. Tearing it to reveal the er..inner gum. Then they will cut your jaw bone and split your useless wisdom tooth into 2 bloody pieces!! then the dentists will remove the pieces, stich the portion up..and laugh at you. But never mind..I will have the last laugh.. as i slack at home with my swollen cheek.. eating my porridge and popping my painkiller pills.. because: if i got 3 screwed up wisdom teeth and 1 decayed tooth.. i can almost take 1 MONTH total of mc man.. heh heh.. Yesterday, I went all the ways down to the Padang there to run the AHM.. but i super chao keng.. only run 12-km. But not bad la, i surprised my self. I thought that 12-km should kill me already. In the end still not too bad.. Damn diff man..run alone and running with your friend. LAst year when i run the 21-km with my buddy Kenneth, it was really great man. Both of us were roughly the same pace, and throughout the run, we just used each other's pace to spur us on. And although we dun talk while we run, there was this unspoken gayness that can still motivate you. This time round, I almost became a schizo. I talked to myself so much i forgot who was the real Adin. "Come on adin, you can do it"..."That's the way 5 km more".. Almost went crazy man..Haha
